Prof. Edwin Andrew Ofudje
Prof. Edwin Andrew Ofudje is a Professor of Chemistry and the Dean, School of Postgraduate Studies, Mountain Top University, Ogun State, Nigeria. He is an accomplished academic, researcher, university teacher and administrator with over eighteen years of experience in tertiary education, postgraduate teaching and supervision, research, academic leadership and university administration.
Prof. Ofudje obtained a B.Ed. in Chemistry from the University of Ibadan in affiliation with Tai Solarin College of Education, Ijebu-Ode, in 2004, an M.Sc. in Chemistry in 2012, and a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry in 2018 from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta. He is a Professor in the Department of Chemical Sciences, where his academic and research activities span Physical Chemistry, Environmental Chemistry and Materials Chemistry.
As a researcher, his interests include adsorption science, wastewater treatment, environmental remediation, nanomaterials, hydroxyapatite and calcium-phosphate materials, biochar and other waste-derived adsorbents, photocatalysis, nanocomposites and surface chemistry. His research is particularly focused on developing sustainable and affordable materials for water purification, pollution control, environmental protection and materials development.
Prof. Ofudje has published over 90 articles in peer-reviewed national and international journals, supervised numerous undergraduate and postgraduate students, and participated in academic conferences, workshops and research collaborations in Nigeria and internationally. He serves as a reviewer for several scholarly journals and as an external examiner to tertiary institutions in Nigeria. In recognition of his research contributions, he received the Research Training Fellowship for Developing Country Scientists (RTF-DCS), India, in 2016, and participated in a research training programme with the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), India.
